Easy circular route on the trail of winegrowing in Dorf Tirol/Tirolo. This leisurely walk through the vineyards above the roofs of Meran/Merano starts at the tourist information office.
Here the route heads down the main street (Hauptstraße) as far as Keschtngasse. Alternatively you could take the route along Gnaidweg, which branches right off Hauptstraße past the "Lido" swimming bath until it meets the junction with Keschtngasse. This road then winds at a leisurely pace through the vineyards. Passing several information points providing fascinating facts about wine, winegrowing and the history of wine along the way, the trail eventually joins the Falknerpromenade as it heads in the direction of "Doss". If you wish, at this point you can turn off onto the Brunnenburgsteig and extend your hike to take in a worthwhile trip to the Brunnenburg (agricultural museum). Otherwise, follow Schlossweg and Hauptstraße back to your starting point.
Take bus 221 from Merano to Dorf Tirol bus station in the centre of the village.
Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).
Chargeable parking just down from the tourist information association near the turn-off onto Aichweg.
