From the mountain station of the Dantercepies cablecar starts the via ferrata “Gran Cir”. When you reach the top, you will enjoy an astonishing panorama.

The fairly short yet busy via ferrata boasts a magnificent view of the north face of the Sella
Group, the Sassolungo and the Puez plateau.

 

Itinerary
The Gran Cir is an easy but exposed via ferrata
suitable for beginners. The upper part features areas (difficulty: easy) where you cannot use
belays: sure-footedness is a must.
Access: from the Dantercëpies mountain station walk towards the Jimmi hut: approx. 45 min
on path no. 12A; or start from Passo Gardena walking on path no. 2B. After that, climb the gully
path until encountering an imposing block of rocks.
Descent: return on the paths back to the starting point.
Tip: Can be done in combination with the nearby but more difficult Piccolo Cir via ferrata.

Details
From the mountain station of the Dantercepies cablecar starts the via ferrata “Gran Cir”. When you reach the top, you will enjoy an astonishing panorama.
All via ferratas come with their own day tour and are well secured: however, they are meant only for experienced climbers.
Make sure you do not suffer from vertigo and can deal with heights, are sure-footed and physically fit, and don’t forget that once you have reached the summit, you will need to climb back down!
We recommend newcomers hire a mountain guide to accompany them.
Climb the via ferratas at your own risk and peril!
To tackle a via ferrata with children, it is advisable to obtain further information and to be
accompanied by a mountain guide.
The via ferratas are not suitable for dogs.
Only climb the via ferratas if the weather is good and use the following equipment: helmet, via ferrata set of the latest generation, possibly protective gloves, proper shoes, weather protection and provisions.
The lower part is slippery after rain.

From Selva Val Gardena with the bus 473 to Passo Gardena.
