Terme Merano is a modern thermal spa and wellness center in the heart of the city. Designed by architect Matteo Thun, it opened in 2005 and continues Merano's long tradition as a spa town, dating back to the 19th century.

Today, Terme Meran is one of the city's premier wellness and leisure attractions. The complex offers 25 indoor and outdoor pools, including thermal pools, whirlpools, and seasonal outdoor pools, all set within a spacious park. Visitors can also relax in a generous sauna area with Finnish saunas, steam rooms, a bio sauna, relaxation rooms, and a snow room. In addition, the complex includes a spa offering massages and beauty treatments, a modern fitness center with equipment and classes, a bistro, and a shop.

Terme Meran is open year-round and warmly welcomes both locals and tourists.

To adapt to high temperatures, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Choose light-coloured, loose, and breathable clothing made from natural fibres such as linen to stay cool. Wear a hat or cap to protect your face from the sun and sunglasses to shield your eyes from UV rays.
  • Use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (at least SPF 30) and reapply it regularly, especially if you are sweating.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle and drink regularly to maintain hydration.
  • Stay in shaded areas as much as possible to avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Wet wipes or cool packs can help lower your body temperature. Place them on your wrists, neck, or other pulse points. Hand fans or battery-operated portable fans can also provide a refreshing breeze.
  • Avoid heavy, greasy meals. Opt for light, water-rich snacks such as fruits and vegetables to keep yourself energized and cool.

These measures contribute to making your stay relaxed and safe.

From the train station the most convenient option is to board one of the city lines (1 or 4) to reach "Merano, Piazza Teatro" bus stop, followed by a 5-minute walk.
Directions
The best way to get to Terme Merano from the city centre is on foot. If you are coming from out of town, the cycle path along the Passer river leads directly to the Piazza Terme, where are parking facilities for bicycles.
Parking
At the Piazza Terme you will find bicycle parking spaces. Take care not to park bicycles and e-scooters carelessly. They can pose a danger to blind and visually impaired people as they create obstacles to safely walking along paths and finding entrances. People in wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can also be hindered by carelessly parked bicycles. Please use the bicycle parking spaces provided.
