Summersberg Castle has a long history: the Summersberg family is first mentioned in historical records in 1202. The castle was completed in 1229 and served as the seat of the court for centuries, until it was relocated in 1829.
Since 1880, Summersberg Castle has been owned by the Zingerle family. The castle itself is not open to visitors, but the historic castle gardens can be visited during the summer months as part of a guided tour.
