Challenging ski tour with fantastic panoramic views from Kasern-Prettau/Casere-Predoi in South Tyrol to Kals am Großglockner in East Tyrol.
Itinerary
Kasern/Casere - Essener Rostocker Hut
From Kasern/Casere the route leads you via the Windtal to the Umbaltörl in East Tyrol and then to the Reggentörl, from where you descent to the Essener Rostocker Hütte - the first interim target.
Essener Rostocker Hut - Johannishütte Hut
On the second day, the route starts from the Essener Rostocker Hut and leads you to the summit of Großer Geiger. Afterwards it leads you over the Türmljoch to the Johannishütte Hut, the second interim target.
Johannishütte Hut - Großvenediger - Matreier Tauernhaus
The next day you pass the Defregger Haus and Reiner Törll and then you finally reach the summit of the Großvenediger. From there, you descend and reach the next interim target: Matreier Tauernhaus.
Matreier Tauernhaus - Rudolfshütte
From the Matreier Tauernhaus you continue to the Dabersee (lake) and the Amertaler Höhe. From there, you descend briefly into the Landecktal valley and then climb to the Granatscharte and the summit of Sonnblick. From there, you the descend to the Rudolfshütte hut.
Rudolfshütte - Stüdlhütte
On the fifth day, you climb to the Granatspitze. From there, you descend into the Dorfertal valley. Past the Dorfersee lake you continue to Gasthof Taurer and from there by bus or taxi to Lucknerhaus. From Lucknerhaus, you pass the Lucknerhütte and continue to the Stüdlhütte.
Stüdlhütte - Großglockner - Kals am Großglackner
On the last day, the tour starts at the Stüdlhütte and continues via the Ködnitzkees and Glocknerleitl to the Kleinglockner and the summit of the Großglockner. From there, the descent follows the ascent route back to Lucknerhaus, the destination of the multi-day ski tour Hoch Tirol.
