from
center
In the Upper Venosta Valley, farmers have mainly grown rye over the last 150 years. Winter rye also grew at higher altitudes. In addition to rye, oats and barley also grew in the area around Stilfs. The farmers used the rye and barley for cooking and baking, while the oats were fed to the animals. The grain trail leads past the grain fields that still exist in Stelvio today.
