This three-thousand-metre peak in the Oetztal Alps at the back of the Matscher Valley offers a magnificent view of the Planeil and Matscher Valley
From the car park of the Matscher Alm shortly before the Glieshof, you can follow the wide alpine path for about 100m until you reach the first fork. Follow hiking trail no. 2A until you reach fork no. 16, where you continue the path to the right.. Now you can follow the trail until you reach the Matscher Alm, which offers a refreshment stop. Directly before the alpine pasture, the path now leads up to the left until you reach a wooden bridge. After you have crossed this, you will reach a sunken path. This leads somewhat steeper up to the tree line and the Muttböden. The next signpost points you north with pronounced grassy slopes. Over hollows and knolls, you reach a cauldron to the northwest, the so-called “Planoalerloch”. The trail then continues via a wide right-hand bend onto a railing shoulder. There you can see the summit slope of the Piz Pleres for the first time. On the ridge to the left of the summit slope upwards to just below the ridge, you reach the Piz Pleres (3188m) climbing diagonally. Here you can comfortably enjoy the view.
