Bike tour St. Leonhard- Walten- St. Leonhard
You start your tour in St. Leonhard in Passeier and follow the Kirchweg steeply uphill. As soon as the road becomes a little less steep, turn onto the Platzerbergweg and follow it until you are above the last farms.
There, turn left into the forest and continue towards Walten on a relatively level section. The tarmac road now takes you uphill through several hairpin bends, passing farms, meadows and shady stretches of forest. After a short downhill section, continue straight ahead, passing a chapel and a small settlement before eventually reaching Walten. At the bridge, turn left and after a few minutes you reach the Jaufenstraße.
From there, the return journey takes you at a relaxed pace back down to St. Leonhard along the Jaufenstraße.
Wear a cycle helmet and weather-appropriate clothing and take enough water and food with you. Before setting off, check your bike and make sure that the brakes, tyres and lights are working properly.
During your cycle tour, pay attention to traffic and the road conditions. Check the weather forecast in advance and take extra care in wet conditions, on slippery sections or when road conditions change.
• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to Sandhof, shortly before St. Leonhard
• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards Meran, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to Sandhof, shortly after St. Leonhard
• Coming from the Timmelsjoch towards Moos, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße to Sandhof, shortly after St. Leonhard
