from center

Family hike through meadows and fields in the low mountain range to Ansitz Lusenegg.

Itinerary

From Lajen/Laion (village square) you follow the Vogelweider circular trail always slightly downhill for about half an hour until you reach Albions. Here you can visit the small hamlet. Continue on trail no. 5a through meadows, fields and woods until you reach Ansitz Lusenegg. The Ansitz is especially famous for its chestnut tree. The imposing chestnut tree in front of the Ansitz Lusennegg is between 600 and 800 years old. With a trunk circumference of around 12 meters, the tree is one of the largest sweet chestnut trees in Europe and is therefore protected as a natural monument.
