The route starts at the Piffinger Köpfl mountain peak in Meran 2000 and runs to the Kirchsteiger Alm and Meraner Hütte Mountain Huts to Waidmann Alm Mountain Hut.
The starting point of the tour around the recreation area of Meran 2000 is the Piffinger Köpfl Mountain Hut at the summit station of the cable car (1,900 m). Piffing is also accessible from Falzeben along a connecting path running about 3 kilometres. The tour runs from the starting point along the paths n. 18,17 and 14 to the Kirchsteiger Alm (1,945 m) and Meraner Hütte (1,960 m) Mountain Huts. The path n. 18A goes to the Waidmann Alm Mountain Hut (1,989 m) and then back to the starting point.

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo.
Two possibilities to reach the summit station:
Free parking place at the valley station of the Meran 2000 funicular/Naiftal
Parking area in Falzeben
