Characteristics: diving headfirst into nature: Monte Pana’s landscape
from center

This relaxing snowshoe circular tour leads through a quiet, deeply snow-covered forest landscape to the foot of the Sassolungo Group, offering an intense nature experience. Away from groomed trails, a peaceful winter world unfolds, where the crunch of snow beneath the snowshoes and the clear mountain air create a truly special atmosphere.

During the snowshoe hike, impressive views repeatedly open up of the imposing rock faces of the Plattkofel, which appears particularly majestic in its winter setting. The gentle character of the route makes this snowshoe tour ideal for enjoyable winter experiences and also suitable for less experienced snowshoers. The combination of snow-covered nature, impressive mountain scenery and a calm pace makes this tour a perfect experience for anyone wishing to discover the winter mountain landscape away from the pistes in a relaxed way.

Itinerary

Starting from Monte Pana, this varied snowshoe hike offers an immersive nature experience combined with calm, steady movement. From the outset, the route follows forest road no. 30, which climbs gently through a deep-snow alpine landscape towards Saltria on the Alpe di Siusi. Away from busy trails, each step leads you deeper into the quiet winter world, accompanied by the soft crunch of snow under your snowshoes and wide views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks.

Upon reaching Saltria, the Florian chairlift takes you comfortably up to an altitude of 2,124 metres above sea level. Even during the ascent, impressive panoramic views open up over the snow-covered alpine plateau and the surrounding mountains.

From the mountain station, the snowshoe hike continues along winter trail no. 531, crossing gently rolling, snow-covered meadows and offering ideal conditions to fully enjoy the peace, vastness and unspoilt character of the winter landscape. The route then joins forest road no. 30 once again, leading you back at a steady pace, with ever-changing views of the surrounding peaks, to the starting point at Monte Pana.

This circular snowshoe tour is perfect for nature lovers and leisure hikers who wish to discover the winter beauty of the Dolomites away from the ski slopes, while enjoying an authentic yet relaxed outdoor experience.
