The Loreto Chapel was built on the site of the so-called Zoppolt House, where Father Gabriel Pontifeser was born. After many years in a very poor condition, the chapel was thoroughly restored in 2002 and has since regained its former splendour.
The chapel was built in 1702/03 at the request of the Spanish Queen Maria Anna and consecrated in 1723. It is a replica of the Holy House of Nazareth, located in Loreto near Ancona.
Inside, visitors can admire valuable works of art, including the altarpiece by Neapolitan sculptor Nicola Fumo and paintings by Spanish artists, giving the chapel particular historical and artistic significance.
