Passing the impressive Churburg Castle is where the fifth stage of the circular hiking trail 360° Upper Vinschgau Valley starts. Probably the most beautiful view to the Ortler mountain group with the highest glacier in South Tyrol is what the stretch along the Monte Sole mountain in Vinschgau, which is rich in vegetation, has to offer.
The fifth stage of the 360° Obervinschgau circular trail begins in Schluderns, and first leads up to the impressive Coira Castle. Further uphill to the mountain farm Vernalhof and along the Sonnenberg, with its typical vegetation of the steppe climate. At the highest point of the hiking trail, a lounger made of local larch wood invites you to take a rest. Before the trail descends into the valley, a cowbell has been placed. Then the hike goes serpentine downhill to the station of Spondinig. After crossing the Adige river, the trail continues through the pine forest "Culture", where you can admire the unique wild river landscape at the Suldenbach and the dry dew of the "Prader Sand". Arrived in Prad am Stilfserjoch, a visit to the nature park house "aquaprad" is recommended. There, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of water and local fish.
