The Val Casies/Gsiesertal Valley has many beautiful alpine pastures, some of which also offer refreshments. As its name suggests, the “Almweg 2000” trail runs at an average altitude of 2000 metres from one alpine pasture to another and offers impressive views of the entire valley.
From S. Maddalena to the Gsieser Törl and from there as a circular hike along the Almweg 2000 via the Weißbachalm back to S. Maddalena.

From the Head of the Valley in the Val Casies/Gsiesertal Valley – S. Maddalena (1465 m, paid parking), continue straight ahead into the valley past the hamlet Rotmoos, following trail no. 49 to the Messnerhütte (1660 m, refreshments available), Kradorfer Alm (1704 m, refreshments available), Oberbergalm (1975 m, refreshments available) and further uphill to the Gsieser Törl (2205 m). The Almweg 2000, marked with a red dot, leads from the Gsieser Törl along the right side of the slope to the Weißbachalm (2112 m), then downhill to the Acherlealm (1867 m) and finally via trail no. 53 back to the starting point.
