From Kasern/Casere(1595 m) towards the end of the valley on trail no. 13, at the Hl. Geist church turn right onto trail no. 12, through the Windtal valley. It is a long valley, alternating between ascending passages and flat moorland, until you finally reach the Lenkjöchlhütte refuge (2590 m) after approx. 2.30 h - 3 h. Overnight accommodation possible at the Lenkjöchlhütte, difficulty level up to the refuge: medium.
From the refuge, take trail no. 12 A in the direction of “Vorderes Umbaltörl.” The trail initially leads over rubble and scree fields, over a somewhat exposed rocky ridge until finally reaching a fork in the trail. Here, take the right-hand side path in the direction of “Vorderes Umbaltörl”, over debris and past a steep boulder. When you reach the “Vorderes Umbaltörl” (2926 m; saddle), follow the ridge to the clearly visible summit cross. Walking time from the hut approx. 1.30 h - 2 h.
Experienced hikers can take the shortcut to the left halfway up; although this path is not marked, it is still easily accessible.
Requirements: Surefootedness is required. Doable for good mountain hikers.
