In Alta Badia you encounter the oldest culture in South Tyrol and during your excursions it is easy to meet traces of typical cultural assets such as the "viles", the ancient rural settlements with their classic Ladin architecture.
This leisurely circuit leads through meadows and forests slightly above the valley floor, along some of the typical Ladin farmsteads.
The height difference of this walk is small, so the route is recommended even for less experienced and trained hikers.
Keep going in the same direction, following the "Tru dles viles – Badia" signs to reach the Frëinademez and Rainé farms. After passing through a wooded area, you’ll come to another junction. From here, descend to the left along the farms of Alfarëi, Ruac, Fussè, and Coz until you reach San Leonardo/Badia (1h 30min). To return to La Villa, you can walk down to Badia/Pedraces and take the bus.
If you prefer to continue walking, take the road on the left behind the church of San Leonardo, and follow the "Tru dles viles – La Villa" signs as the path gently climbs. After passing the Anvì farm, follow the road to the right towards the Adan farm, where signs for La Villa will lead you towards the stream. From here, continue to Altin, and then ascend back to the village center.
Getting to the starting point of the tour or point of interest by public transport is easy and convenient.
Follow the SS244 Val Badia road towards La Villa.
