Vigiljoch - Bärenbad Alm - Naturnser Hochwart

Vigiljoch/Monte S. Vigilio, Lana, Meran/Merano and environs
A rewarding circular hike on the Vigiljoch, at the foothills of the Ortler group, with ascent of the Naturnser Hochwart (2,608 m) with an amazing view.

The starting point of this hike is the mountain station of the chairlift Vigiljoch at 1.814 m. From here you walk slightly downhill to Gasthaus Jocher to the church of St. Vigilius. Under the small church there is a crossroads, from where you can reach the Bärenbad Alm. There begins the path no. 2, which is in the way nr. 9 and slowly rises towards Naturnser Alm (1,910 m). Follow path no. 9 to Rauhen Bühel (2.027 m), which leads up to the Hochwart. The way back is via the ascent path.

Overview
Some surefootedness. Trekking shoes are recommended. Basic orientation skills.
The cable car is easily accessible by public transport. The Lana bus station is just a 3-minute walk from the valley station. Take advantage of the well-developed public transport network and the convenient connections to the train stations in Marlengo, Merano, or Lana/Postal.

Parking
Parking at the valley station of the cable car is limited and subject to a fee. We therefore recommend arriving by public transport.
