Hans Kammerlander Trail

Start at the bus stop in St. Jakob/San Giacomo in Ahrntal valley - Achrain. Right from the start, a  ascent via a forest trail to the Bärental Alm (1,874 m). From there, it goes up to the Hochfeld at 2.296 m and down again into the Großklausen areato the Unterbergeralm hut (1,777 m). The trail then goes up to the Breiten Rast at 2,088 m. From there, the trail continues almost evenly to the lake Klaussee and to the Rauchkofel (2,653 m), the highest point of the hike. Then the trail descends slightlt to Pojerspitz and Pojeralmen. The last ascend leads you to Ahornacher Jöchl (2,276 m) and the final descent leads you past the "Schlafhäuser" to the mountaineering village of Ahornach.
