From the center of Taisten, follow the village road uphill past the parish church and Hotel Alpen Tesitin. After 50 m turn right to reach the Guggenberg farm and follow the road to the next junction. From there turn left and after a sharp right bend you reach the paid parking lot above the Mudler mountain restaurant, the starting point of the hike. From here, always following trail marker no. 38 A, you reach the Taistner Alm (2012 m, refreshments available). Continue to the right up to the fork, then gently uphill along a wide forest path until you reach open terrain. From there keep right, first on a flat section, then increasingly steep to the summit cross of the Salzla (2131 m).

Coming from Innsbruck/Brennero (A): Drive on the Highway of Brennero (A22) until the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 58kms until you arrive in Monguelfo. To get to Tesido, we recommend to take the exit West in Monguelfo.
Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Monguelfo. To get to Tesido, we recommend to take the exit West in Monguelfo.
