From Pineta/Steinmannwald, trail no. 12A goes directly to the Rechtebner inn. Along the steep trail you cross the street to La Costa/Seit several times until you reaches the inn after about 1,5 hours of walking. To return, follow the same path back to Pineta/Steinmannwald in just under an hour.
This hiking trail crosses the high altitude trail of Laives/Leifers (trail no. 12) at the Rechtebner inn. It can therefore be used as an access route to the high altitude trail or as a descent from the high altitude trail.
Coming from the south:
Take the highway exit "Egna/Ora/Termeno-Neumarkt/Auer/Tramin" and follow the signs "Bolzano/Laives-Bozen/Leifers" for approx. 15 km. Drive through the tunnel of Laives/Leifers and then take the first exit, which leads to Pineta/Steinmannwald.
Coming from the north:
Take the highway exit "Bolzano Sud/Bozen Süd" and then follow the signs for "Trento/Laives - Trient/Leifers" for approx. 10 km. After the tunnel connecting Bolzano/Bozen and Laives/Leifers take the first exit, which leads to Pineta/Steinmannwald.
