Hiking

Hike to Sëurasas

St. Ulrich/Urtijëi/Ortisei/Urtijëi, Urtijëi/Ortisei, Dolomites Region Val Gardena
Adventurous hike that takes you to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Ortisei.
from center
Sëurasas (2,125 m) is a popular viewpoint above Ortisei, especially appreciated by locals and located away from the more crowded hiking routes. The hike impresses not only with its breathtaking panoramas, but also with its varied and engaging trail layout. Most of the route runs through peaceful mountain forests, offering a quiet and immersive nature experience. From time to time, beautiful views open up over Ortisei and the impressive Langkofel mountain group, making the ascent particularly rewarding. The path is partly steep and requires a good level of fitness, but remains well maintained and easy to follow. The calm atmosphere and natural surroundings make this hike especially appealing. At the summit point of Sëurasas, a meadow invites hikers to relax and enjoy the views before returning along the same route.
Itinerary

The hike begins in the heart of Ortisei, right at the Parish Church. Follow the signs toward St. Jacob until you reach the scenic “Via del Dialogo,” which branches off to the left. The trail climbs through charming switchbacks up to Col de Flam. At the end, turn right and continue along a gentle, level path straight to the little St. Jacob’s Church.
From St. Jacob’s Church, continue along trail no. 6 toward Balest and then on to Sëurasas. The ascent is fairly steep, but the effort is richly rewarded: along the way, breathtaking panoramic views of Ortisei and the majestic Dolomites open up, making this route an unforgettable experience.
