Start at the parking area of the Altfasstal Valley and take the shaded, nearly flat forest path to the Kneipp area. From there, the path continues without significant elevation gain to the Großberg Hut. Once you leave the forest behind, the view opens up over the beautiful, sunny Altfasstal Valley.
The trail is well-marked and follows a charming brook that winds through the valley, making navigation easy. At the end of the valley, you’ll reach the Wieser Hut and the Pranter Stadl Hut (1,850 m), both perfect spots to take a break.
Tip: For a fun return, consider renting a mountain bike and riding down the valley.
In the ski and holiday area Gitschberg Jochtal you can get an Adventure Book at your accommodation or at the tourist offices. This special booklet features ten selected hikes, each with a stamp station along the way, where you can collect an imprint in your Adventure Book.
With three stamps, you can claim a bronze medal at the tourist offices in Mühlbach, Rodeneck, Terenten, Vals, or Meransen. Six stamps earn you a silver medal, and with all ten, you’ll be awarded the prestigious gold medal!
