Easy tour once around the valley floor between Prad am Stilfserjoch and the medieval city of Glurns.
Itinerary
If you want to get to know the valley floor between Prad am Stilfserjoch and the medieval town of Glurns better, you will really enjoy this tour. From the main town of Prad, the route leads through the hamlet of Agums and along an asphalted farm track to the village of Lichtenberg with its castle ruins of the same name not far above, which is always worth a visit. The route continues, alternating between gravel and asphalt, past the hamlet of Söles to the medieval town of Glurns. Here we recommend a short tour of the town by bike or on foot around the town wall, which is about one kilometre long. After this detour into the Middle Ages, the route continues along the Adige River to a reservoir in front of which you turn left towards the village. The town of Schluderns is dominated by another medieval highlight, the Churburg, which is well worth a visit. The Vintschger Museum at the foot of the castle is also worth a visit. The tour continues from Schluderns to Spondinig, always along the railway tracks of the Vintschger Bahn. In Spondinig, the idyllically situated fishing ponds await the cyclists and invite them to linger. The trail leads back to Prad am Stilfserjoch through the dry meadows of the "Prader Sand" biotope. The tour can be concluded with a visit to the aquaprad National Park House with its 14 aquariums.
