Parish Church of Saint Nicholas

Pichl/Colle, Gsies/Valle di Casies
Parish church with Gothic origins, Neo-Gothic design and artistic altars from the 19th century.
from center

The Parish Church of Saint Nicholas was first mentioned in 1334 and underwent several transformations over the centuries. Following its Gothic phase, it was redesigned in Neo-Gothic style in the 19th century based on plans by Josef Vonstadl. The tower with pointed-arch windows dates back to 1472. Notable features include Nazarene-style figures by Michael Hintner and Neo-Gothic altars from the Colli & Adam workshop. An extension was added in 1963 based on designs by Erich Pattis.
