Get to know the folktales of the Schlern massif’s witches on the family-oriented Seiser Alm Ronda ski circuit
Not many myths revolve around South Tyrolean massifs like the Schlern: the extraordinary formation of this Dolomite mountain is considered the landmark of South Tyrol and has been worshipped since a long time. It’s believed the Schlern massif’s witches danced here once... The adjacent Seiser Alm plateau, with its 56 km², is the largest high- altitude Alpine meadow in Europe. On the extensive high plateau with 175 km of runs, families prefer to carve turns on wide, sun-drenched and snow-covered slopes and appreciate the child-friendly gondola lifts of the Alpe di Siusi high plateau-Val Gardena ski area.
In the ski schools, the kids learn from Witch Nix their first ski turns and all about safety on the slopes. The Seiser Alm Ronda ski circuit, also known as the “Witches tour” or “Hexenrunde” in German, is legendary: At seven stations, young and old skiers learn exciting facts about Schlern massif witches. Moreover, action is also encouraged at the Seiser Alm Snowpark or in the Funpark for kids. The route also takes you to the most mind-bending viewpoints of the adjacent Dolomite mountains.
