The Peter Mayr Pfeffersberg band is one of the most outstanding chapels in South Tyrol. Since 1958, the “Pfeffersberger” have repeatedly participated in scoring games at district and national music festivals in Germany and abroad - to date, there are 20 of them. Initially you started in the intermediate level, later in the upper level and finally in the highest level and always achieved excellent results. The music band Peter Mayr Pfeffersberg has been led by conductor Bernhard Reifer since 2016. Reifer, born in 1973, comes from our own ranks and has been active as a drummer for decades. With the musical direction of the brass band Frener & Reifer Pfeffersberg, he earned his first spurs as a conductor, extremely meritoriously. Numerous top positions at the European Brass Band Championships and numerous successful concerts at home and abroad bear witness to these great years.

The new special exhibition at the Museum Ladin is titled “Countdown to Mass Extinction?”. It focuses on the End Permian Mass Extinction that occurred 252 million years ago and the current climate change. Curator Herwig Prinoth leads you through the exhibition. They play an important role in the social life of the village and give many young people the opportunity to discover and develop their musical talents. The via ferrata Brigata Tridentina, one of the most iconic climbing routes in the Dolomites, is going to be illuminated under the starry sky of late July. An annual tradition, thanks to the tireless efforts of the local 'Croderes' group of mountaineers, who climb up with torches to illuminate the route, starting from the slopes of the Sella Group and reaching the Pisciadú refuge. This route was opened in the 1960s by the Alpini of the Brigata Tridentina. You should come and admire this spectacle in the church square in Colfosco, the best spot to enjoy the illumination. The Colfosco-Corvara music band will add a touch of charm with their enchanting melodies. Please note that in the event of bad weather, the illumination will be cancelled to ensure the safety of mountaineers. The band concert will take place in Corvara's event hall in the event of bad weather. Come along to the games afternoon for children on the village square, organized by the "Jugenddienst Bozen-Land"! Experience lots of fun with different games that are waiting to be explored by you. Admission is free and no registration required! Highlight of the afternoon: a bobby car race! Register from 4:30 pm with our youngsters (directly at the village square) and the race will start at 5:30 pm! In case of thunderstorm or heavy rain the event will not take place.

The weekend from the 26th to 27th of July, the traditional village festival called "Kalterer Marktfest" takes place in Kaltern. A festival in the whole city centre with music and dishes for everyone.

Merano 2000 Funivie Spa and the Tourist Association of Avelengo-Verano-Merano 2000 are constantly striving for a clean mountain and for this reason the project 'SpazzaTour' was born - a week at Merano 2000 in which young people from the Jugenddienst Bozen Land (Youth Service Bozen Land) collect all the rubbish left. From Monday, 29 July to Friday, 2 August, the young people will be on the hunt for rubbish along the trails in the area. The awareness-raising campaign also encourages all other visitors to participate: Equipped with sustainable gloves and a rubbish bag, you too can take part in the collection on Monday 29 July 2024.

The wind ensemble "Philomousia" was founded in 2005 and has since been performing regularly in variable formations, from trio to extended wind ensemble. We play classical harmony music, which is ideal music for a balmy summer evening. The repertoire ranges from original works of the pre-classical period to typical arrangements of important operas and symphonies of the late 18th and early 19th centuries for this instrumentation. Othmar Trenner presided over the ensemble from 2013 to 2022, and Manfred Egger took over in 2023.
