Together they collect the resin from the trees and use it to make a traditional healing ointment, a much-appreciated household remedy in South Tyrol, in the garden of Castle Welsperg. With biologist and herbalist Carolin we go in search of local herbs and plants. We explore the wonders of nature combining folk medicine tradition and modern scientific knowledge. In addition to tips for identifying and collecting herbs, we will learn about their effects and various processing methods. During the easy hike we will collect various herbs, which will be processed and tasted at the end. Children must be accompanied by a parent.

The diversity of street food cuisine is back in town. At the FOOD FESTIVAL BRIXEN. Food trucks, passionate and amateur chefs will meet in the Rappanlagen facilities of Brixen and create high-quality food. The event is accompanied by a 3-day musical programme. A morning that leaves its mark. Forests throughout South Tyrol have been brought to their knees. Storms, heavy snowfall and the spread of the bark beetle, a small insect that feeds on fir and pine trees, are leading to the death of numerous green areas. A large number of volunteers have taken action to help these forests, which provide shelter for so many animal species and are crucial in reducing the risk of landslides. You will ascend by cable car to the Piz de Plaies area, one of the hardest hit, but also one of the most beautiful and scenic. Eventually we will plant a tree together, as sign and permanent memory of the vacation, but also for our well-being as well as that of the nature surrounding us. Accompanying you will be Pire, a forest ranger and great expert on our forests, who will be able to explain to you all the most particular curiosities. Every contribution, however small, can make the difference!

Traditional herbal dishes, seminars and great hikes will enrich your stay. Get to know the flowers and herbs of the Alps better and take a look at the beneficial power of mountain plants. In addition to the evening mountain dinner at the Edelweisshütte and the herb festival in Ladurns, the highlight of this year's festival is the photo competition and summer party at the Botenhof herb farm in the Pflersch valley.

With the right know-how and the right equipment, the risk of an accident can be reduced or avoided - the certified guides from SAAC show you on the bike what is important in terms of accident prevention. Both theoretically and practically, the participants are taught the most important safety aspects, a correct riding technique and the right choice of material and equipment. Apple growing takes centre stage at the family-run Schrenteweinhof in Lana. Farmer Patrizia tells you exciting stories and many interesting details about her favourite fruit. She is one of the 63 farm women service providers under the brand "South Tyrolean farm women. From our hands". Patrizia will introduce you to the different apple varieties and you will learn a lot about apple growing. In between, you can also take a bite of a juicy fruit! On three Wednesday evenings the church square in Welschnofen is once again transformed into a meeting place to enjoy the balmy summer nights. Local bands with people from the Val d'Ega ensure a good mood and good cheer. Various stalls offer local specialities such as Schlutzer, Krapfen, Strauben, Welschnofner beer and much more, inviting you to get to know South Tyrol from its culinary side. A special highlight is always the Schuhplattler (traditional folk dancer), who delight young and old with their "Platteln". The little guests can let off steam to their heart's content at the children's program and do handicrafts with natural materials, sow flowers or transform themselves into lions and butterflies at the children's face painting.
