From here, a  cable car  leads directly up to the Seiser Alm, the largest high-Alpine pasture in Europe. Holidays in Seis are ideal for strolling and hiking, for going mountain biking or  golfing. The 18-hole golf course is considered South Tyrol’s most beautiful and is accessible by foot from Seis. The Oswald von Wolkenstein trail, which follows in the footsteps of the famed Minnesinger, is particularly recommended for  families . Reach the Seiser Alm high plateau sustainably

The Seiser Alm near Bolzano/Bozen is the largest high alpine pasture in Europe and boasts unrivalled views of the Dolomites. In the calming silence and pure air, enjoy hiking, climbing and biking in summer, and skiing, cross-country skiing or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride in winter.

The road to the Seiser Alm nature reserve is closed to private cars from 9 am to 5 pm. You can get there using the cable car from Seis/Siusi or by bus from Kastelruth/Castelrotto.

Your car-free summer holiday

Europe's largest high-Alpine pasture is located in the middle of the Dolomites, north-east of Bolzano, and above the villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers.

  • Travelling by train

    You can reach the villages in the Seiser Alm region by bus, taxi or the "South Tyrol Transfer" shuttle from the railway stations in Bolzano/Bozen, Brixen/Bressanone and Klausen/Chiusa." Some accommodation facilities on the Seiser Alm offer a pick-up service from Seis am Schlern/Siusi allo Sciliar or from the mountain station for the Seiser Alm cable car.
