During holiday on the sunny side of the Vinschgau valley, you can explore forts, follow the Waalwege canal trails, and sample elegant wines and local asparagus. Marvel at the impressive Schloss Juval castle, the summer residence of Reinhold Messner, as well as the Schloss Kastelbell castle. These imposing castles seem to loom over the villages of Kastelbell and Tschars. Follow the historic irrigation channels, known locally as “Waalwege”, to magnificent views of the Dolomites and Ortler Alps. Afterwards, sample the region’s culinary delights including apples, wine and asparagus, all of which thrive in the region’s climate.
