Holidays in the Gitschberg Jochtal Alpine-pasture region
Idyllic Apine-pasture landscapes and views of Dolomite peaks
Dotting the scenic landscape of the Gitschberg Jochtal Alpine-pasture & ski region are over 50 Alpine farms and mountain huts, including the unique, picturesque Fane Alm Alpine farm village. Discovering the region is particularly easy and uncomplicated thanks to the Almencard regional tourism card. Exciting themed trails such as the Pfunders Farm Trail and the Gitschberg panorama platform with a view of more than 500 peaks await visitors in the individual high plateau holiday villages. In sun-spoilt Terenten/Terento , you can stroll past the many scattered farms and along the Mills educational trail. You can also hike to the unique earth pyramids and mountain lakes. The Rodenecker Alm Alpine pasture is one of the largest high plateaus in Europe. In addition to the magnificent views, gentle hiking trails and steeper climbs lead to numerous mountain huts. In winter, it is a popular place for cross-country skiing, ski touring and snowshoe hiking. Rodeneck/Rodengo is also home to a cultural gem: The Schloss Rodenegg castle with its 13th-century frescos.
