Bolzano: the green city

Promenades & sustainability: why is Bolzano one of the “greenest” cities in Italy?

To relax in the green, you don't have to go far in Bolzano: almost half of the city consists of green spaces, large and small parks and meadows, vineyards in the middle of the city and on the hills all around. Bolzano's green lungs are undoubtedly the broad Talferwiesen meadows on both banks of the Talfer river, which runs through the city. Here there are playgrounds and sports fields, beautiful running paths and meadows to relax in. Pram-friendly walkways and promenades invite you to take a leisurely stroll.

You can explore the city and its surroundings on the numerous cycle paths. In Bolzano, one of the “greenest” cities in Italy, there are plenty of opportunities to rent a bike or e-bike. Green transport fits in with the city's sustainable mobility concept, as Bolzano also uses hybrid buses for its city transport. And with the cable cars to the Ritten mountain and Kohlern/Colle, you float from the city to the mountain without any emissions.
