Bad weather in South Tyrol: things to see and do

Our tips to make rainy days special

The peaks are shrouded in clouds, the air becomes cooler, and everything slows to a gentler pace. But even in the rain, South Tyrol/Südtirol does not lose any of its charm. In fact, wet weather reveals a whole new side of this special land. In every corner, you can find cosy places, flavours to discover, and stories worth hearing. Discover silent museums, ancient wine cellars and thermal waters. The eight towns and cities of South Tyrol bare their true souls on rainy days. On this page, you will find plenty of ideas to enjoy South Tyrol, even if the skies are grey: make the most of each city with three simple, authentic and diverse options.

Special tips for rainy days

Bolzano/Bozen

Bolzano has a lot to offer, even when the sky is overcast. You can take a sheltered stroll  under the arcades in the city centre, explore small artisanal shops, and savour the historic charm. You can also choose between numerous  museums in Bolzano  that cater to every interest, from art to history. If you prefer a more laid-back outing, head to  Cantina Bolzano for a guided tour with tasting.

If you prefer art, the Paul Flora" exhibition" is a gateway to imaginary worlds. And to discover the secrets of South Tyrol's smallest town, take a guided tour of Glurns, tracing the ancient walls and distant histories.

TV Leifers/Tiberio Sorvillo

Laives/Leifers

Laives offers a surprising mix of spirituality and culture. The Saint Anthony the Great and Saint Nicholas church is filled with noteworthy details.
