He made his debut on the Deutsche Grammophon label in 2014 with a concept album entitled "Fantasia", which contains works by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. This was followed in 2015 by his second DG album "Après une lecture de Liszt", which is entirely dedicated to the Hungarian composer, as well as further releases in 2018 and 2020.
Albanese was already honoured with the "Premio Venezia" and the special prize for the best performance of a contemporary opera at the "Busoni" in Bolzano in 1997 and won first prize at the "Vendome Prize" (jury president Sir Jeffrey Tate) in 2003 with final rounds in London and Lisbon: an event described by Le Figaro as "the most prestigious competition in the world today".
In Bolzano, he will perform the concert entitled "Anniversari 2024" with works by Ferruccio Busoni (100th anniversary of his death), Leoš Janáček (170th birthday), Arnold Schönberg (150th birthday) and Charles Ives (150th birthday and 70th anniversary of his death).
