The traditional South Tyrolean recipe for the Easter season
Ingredients

400 g type 00 wheat flour with the South Tyrolean seal of quality
200 ml milk with the South Tyrolean seal of quality
40 g butter with the South Tyrolean seal of quality
60 g sugar
1 cube of yeast
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp anise
Preparation
Time to prepare: 2 h
Knead all ingredients to form a smooth dough. Leave the dough to rest for 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes, form a round loaf shape and carefully knock back after another 10 minutes of resting. Allow the dough to rise for another 40 - 50 minutes. Carefully press the star pattern into it. Brush the surface of the loaf with water and place into the preheated oven. Bake with upper and lower heat at 200°C for around 25 minutes. In a fan oven, set the temperature to 180°C and bake for 25 minutes.
