Hotel description
The Frühmesserhaus Refugium zu Sanct Kassian has 3 premium appartments. Eatch one has about 110m2 with kitchen, eating room, living room, two bed rooms, bathroom and WC. We have got also a big terrace, a garden with pool and a garage. In German, the term Refugium stands for a sanctuary, a private retreat. A place you can escape to, a temporary home of a different kind, a different world to retire to, body and soul. As you escape from the everyday hassle and your nine-to-five routine, you seek to breathe freely, to take a break, to relax. Each appartement has space from 2 to 5 persons. To this day the massive walls of the former Frühmesserhaus breathe the monastic spirit of the location. Calling to mind the solemn ritual governing daily routine in years long past, the strong, linear building breathes an atmosphere of quiet and serenity.

About the region

In Meran and Environs, you might just feel as if you visited an entire continent on holiday. Vineyards and 3,000 m peaks, palm trees and Alpine roses, and mountain farm houses with contemporary architecture, the list of contrasting aspects is as impressive as the myriad opportunities available on holiday here.

Meran and Environs is a region of contrasts. The craggy, impressive 3,000 m peaks of the Texelgruppe, the largest nature park in South Tyrol/Südtirol, form the backdrop of Meran, a city boasting Mediterranean flair, a grand spa and imperial pomp & circumstance. Don’t be surprised to see apples, wine, and even palm trees growing behind the protective wall formed by the Texelgruppe range. Variety, stemming from the fertile climate, makes holidays in Meran and Environs so intriguing. Head shopping or stroll the side streets. The city’s arches and Mediterranean flair will leave an impression, but so too will the magnificent views and natural beauty of the Texelgruppe peaks that beckon you to set out and explore during a hike along the Meran High Mountain Trail (Meraner Höhenweg). In the valleys of Ultental and Passeiertal, rural landscapes, old mountain farm houses and untouched nature invite you to explore another world. The sheer variety of Meran and Environs is also reflected in the architecture. View centuries-old castles and forts as well as contemporary architecture coexisting side by side.
