In den Stuben
If floors could talk… the ancient boards of this room once paved the old Stube, or family living rooms, and must have witnessed a wealth of encounters, projects and aspirations in the course of time. The luminous modernity of the bathroom creates an effective contrast with the atmosphere of times past. This accommodation is particularly well suited to guests who prefer to sleep on the ground floor.
Max up to 2 guests
Suite unter den Linden
Truly a master bedroom, with Biedermeier furniture, select items of contemporary design and floors in warm-hued oak parquet. To go with it, a wonderfully generous bathroom, with a freestanding bathtub, a spacious shower and classic terrazzo flooring.
Max up to 3 guests
Palmenzimmer
Facing south and overlooking the palm garden, this room feels Mediterranean in atmosphere. A built-in wardrobe and attractive cane furniture fit in perfectly with the luminous ensemble, with the flames from a green stove in perfect working order to take the chill off mid-season days. The room provides access to the gardens via the terrace.
Max up to 2 guests
Bei Oma
The green tones of the garden are reflected in the accommodation, while the large terrace further invites nature into the room. Modern elements accompany the Josephine furniture over the old timber floorboards and into the present.
Max up to 2 guests
Mitzi-Martha
A room that’s full of character, with stone faced walls, Jugendstil friezes and a small private bower leading to the vineyard and gardens. The furniture is typical of country houses in this area, adding its own warm note to the welcome. In the early 1900s the soubrettes Mitzi and Martha often stayed in this room, no doubt to the delight of the male guests of the time.
Max up to 3 guests
Das rote Salettl
Different hues of red are the perfect colour for this room because it faces west, where the sun sets. With its own private balcony, it enjoys the shade and scent of a huge lime tree that creates a quietly dancing leafy spot for the benefit of the occupants.
Max up to 2 guests
Wasmannzimmer
It was from this room that the German painter Friedrich Wasmann observed and painted the Otmanngutt garden. To wit, the fine painting on the wall, which fits in perfectly with the lovely 18th century furniture and the fine fabrics.
Max up to 2 guests
Turmzimmer
Room with a view – over the magnificent landscape of Merano: to the south, but also north towards the hills, and east to take in the terraced vineyards. Warm tones prevail, with the wooden floorboards and the Thirties cedar-wood furniture. The Turmzimmer opens off a charming little attic library.
Max up to 2 guests
Unterm Pataun
A single room that pays homage to an essential aspect of the history of the house: winegrowing. Not just the view of the Ottmanngut vineyards, but also a French bed with vine decorations, and a pergola motif embodied in the floor, with variations in the console table and chestnut wardrobe.
Max up to 1 guests
Ecksalon
A gorgeous sunny room in the Biedermeier style particularly appreciated by guests with an eye for historical detail. Because it is a corner room, in the late afternoon rays of sunlight draw out the colours of the wooden floorboards, softening the contours and imbuing the suite with a sense of warm welcome.
