Waldthalerhof lies nestling in the centre of the small village of Montiggl, in a nature conservation area, just a few minutes' walk from the Montiggl lakes. Montiggl am See is an original and lovely village with around 100 inhabitants.
Old farmhouses and estates shape the landscape.
Montiggl lies at 500 metres above sea level and belongs to the district of Eppan on the South Tyrol Wine Road, which has St. Michael as its main town. On the farm itself you'll find 4 apartments for 2, 3 or 4 persons.
Every flat features an attractive dining area complete with dining table and chairs and comfortable corner seating with armchairs or sofas for relaxing, reading or watching television on (colour TV with satellite connection). The kitchen is equipped with a fridge with a freezer compartment, dishwasher, glass ceramic hob with extraction hood, coffee machine, kettle and radio. The bathrooms are modern with a shower/WC and some of them have a bidet.
You will receive bed linen (i.e. the beds are already made on your arrival) as well as towels and tea towels. These will also be changed at your request. We have a garden with a wooden terrace, garden furniture, sun umbrellas and a sunbathing lawn that is much appreciated by our guests. Your children are more than welcome to play in the Wendy house or sandpit or go on the swings. In addition, there is a covered terrace with table football for rainy days.
All our guests may access the common room for browsing and playing in and as a meeting place. It features board games, magazines and books, and a folder with lots of great hiking tips.
You are more than welcome to join us for an evening's socialising. We grow our own wine and so keep lots of different types of wine here. Michael, the owner, will be happy to show you our wine cellar. Whether you like red or white wine, full-bodied or light, we'll be happy to advise you.Our establishment can boast very well equipped holiday flats to create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere for your holiday.
For your breakfast we offer bread rolls with 20 different types of fresh, crusty bread to choose from, brought to Montiggl every day (except Sunday) by our baker in St. Michael. The bread rolls, which you need to order the previous evening, will be waiting outside your door as of 7.30 a.m.
In addition, we offer you all kinds of tasty fare to start your day off well. Home-made apricot and cherry jam, stewed fruit and, best of all, our home-made apple juice.
The following are made available to small children: cot with bed linen, high chair and bottle warmer. On request, we have a pushchair with large wheels and a child carrier rucksack by the brand Salewa.
You are more than welcome to spend an evening with us once a week. We sometimes organise barbecue evenings outdoors in the summer, and we meet in the common room when the weather is not suitable, or during autumn, when it starts to get a little chilly.
You can learn interesting things about wine and apple farming during a wine tasting session. We also have 'speck' cured pork, 'schüttelbrot' crispbread, rosemary breadsticks and tomatoes from our garden when in season.
As well as there being a fridge in every holiday flat, there is a fridge with drawers in the common room on the ground floor too, which you are free to use at any time e.g. when you would like to make the most of your day of departure, you can keep your food or drink there.
