Water as an energy-renewing resource
During a hike through the Gilfenklamm Gorge, the primordial force of water can be experienced with all senses.
The Gilfenklamm Gorge, a protected natural monument, is unquestionably impressive: it is the world’s only gorge that cuts through pure white marble. Shimmering greens and grays and a crystal clear water form a unique natural wonder. Thunderous and powerful, the Ratschingser Bach torrent plunges over several waterfalls into the gorge. Its wild bubbling, splashing and foaming makes it possible to experience the primordial force of water with all the senses. It will take approximately one hour to walk through the gorge, over secured footbridges, wooden bridges and stairs. The hike offers a special nature experience for the whole family. You can also feel the vitalizing and invigorating power of water at other natural sites: the Hölle waterfall in the Pflerschtal valley, the Moassl waterfall in the Pfitschtal valley, the Burkhardklamm gorge in the Ridnauntal valley and the Gurgl waterfall in the Jaufental valley which make you feel the true energy of this force of nature.
