Concert by the Villanders Music Band

The Villanders Music Band was first officially mentioned in 1803, making it one of the oldest in South Tyrol. Today, the Villanders Music Band has approximately 45 active members and 8 honorary members. It is currently led by the Villanders conductor Hannes Pupp. In addition to traditional events such as the St. Cecilia Concert, the Easter Concert, and numerous church celebrations, the annual fundraising performances on New Year’s Eve, in May, and on St. Martin’s Day are special highlights for the musicians and the Villanders community. Moreover, the traditional costumes worn by the musicians, the "Marketenderinnen", and the flag bearer are among the most traditional in the region.
