Juebia Grassa - Carnival festival and barley soup tasting

The children of the nursery school provide an entertaining children's music programme with dance and music.

As barley soup with smoked carré was usually cooked for lunch on Fat Thursday, young people and children would sleep in their neighbours' houses to swap the soup pot with the tasty dish for a pot with an old shoe floating in the water. The Ladin song "Ncuei juebia grassa..." was written for this occasion. In keeping with tradition, barley soup is served on the village square in S. Cristina on Carnival Thursday.
