From Lake Braies to San Vigilio

Challenging trekking in a place of legends, where unbelievably the wild mountain and the cultural landscape of the alpine pasture cared for by the animals become one and the same and provide us with unique views. We start at the spectacular Lake Braies, in whose water the massive rock faces of the Croda del Becco are reflected and which is a true myth in the mountain world as well as one of the natural wonders of the Dolomites. We walk up through the forest to the alpine pasture where the animals graze: Fojedöra, a magical place where time has stood still and off the beaten track, an authentic and original place. The meadows are home to an exceptional variety of species and give us a view of a lake of our own: Lake Fojedöra. Throughout the walk we will move through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch there is the possibility to stop at the Fojedöra alpine hut, or we can each have a packed lunch. Recommended for: adults, families (min. age 12) Difficulty level: DIFFICULT - 6 hours of walking
