Hotel description
Our refuge at 2,670m is in the midst of the unique scenic Mazia/Matscher mountains, hike past the highest lakes group of South Tyrol, the laghi di Saldur/Saldurseen. You can reach us from the valley of the Mazia/Matsch but you can also reach us the from Val Senales/Schnalstal. The Oberettes hut between the Mazia/ Matscher, the Vallelunga/Langtauferer and Val Senales/Schnalstal will spoil you with its magnificent views and tranquility. And everyone gets their money: ambitious climbers, hikers or families. It serves as an ideal starting point for the glacier tour to the Palla Bianca/Weißkugel 3,739m and for many more challenging or leisurely tours.

About the region

Vinschgau/Val Venosta is a land of contrasts. The bell tower jutting out of the Reschensee lake is only the tip of the iceberg. Visitors can choose to sail, cycle or walk along paths that cut through orchards and cultivated fields, always accompanied by the famous Vinschgau winds. The people of this valley have embraced the slow pace of agriculture with their eyes raised to the Ortler mountain, the highest peak in South Tyrol. The purest marble is quarried in Laas/Lasa, while in Glurns/Glorenza, you can walks between medieval walls. Even the historical irrigation ditches tell stories of the land and local ingenuity. Vinschgau does not have to put on a show to leave a lasting impression.
