In Bolzano/Bozen and environs, different worlds collide. The historical centre welcomes you with winding alleys, open squares and cafés, where you can enjoy a break with a view of the Dolomites. The Italian and German ways of life have coexisted here for centuries: you can see them in the architecture, you can hear them in the language, and you can taste them in the dishes. From the bottom of the valley, you can ascend by cable car to remarkable places such as the earth pyramids of Ritten/Renon.
