Apartment - Suite Tillas Schreibstube
Mathilde Amplatz, her friends called her Tilla, grew up here. She was an enthusiastic teacher, but during the fascist era she lost her job and from then on had to teach her pupils secretly in the so-called catacomb schools - including these rooms. We have turned Tilla's former classroom into a unique holiday accommodation, with partly antique original furniture and at the same time a lot of modern comfort.

Apartment - Suite Jordans Werkstatt
Jordan was once the master carpenter at the village square. He, the simple but very determined craftsman, had bought this house for his family, outbidding both the local authority and other interested buyers. He secretly wrote his experiences on the underside of the planks and the back of the panelling - more than 120 years later they have come to light again during renovation. Where master carpenter Jordan once lived and carpentered, there is one of the most exclusive holiday accommodation in the centre of Montan.

Apartment - Suite Moidls Schneiderei
Maria Amplatz, called Moidl, was known for her sewing skills. She lived in a time when ready-made clothes did not exist, clothes were made to measure and designed to be worn for years. In the suite called Moidl's Tailoring, many a picture and utensil still remind us of the former resident, who would certainly have been pleased to know that her former place of work has become such a comfortable yet quaint holiday flat.

Hotel description

Our stately house is located in the centre of the wine village of Montan on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, which lies in a quiet position on the sunny hillside terrace above Castelfeder. The village is nestled in well-tended vineyards and orchards, an ideal starting point for many worthwhile excursions and hikes in the Trudner Horn Nature Park, as well as for cycling or swimming in the numerous lakes around Montan. The Amplatz has been a fixture on Montan's village square for centuries. As in 1523, the main building and annexe form a single unit in which you can enjoy a sophisticated and relaxed holiday today. Our guests can choose between the rooms in the main building and the garden residence or our suites in the historic neighbouring building.
