Hotel description
Close contact with nature the whole year round! We're reconstructing. From January 2017 our inn has 3 stars! What a lovely spot! Away from traffic, in an idealic location. The most beautiful destinations can easily be reached from here. Comfort and typical Tyrolean hospitality with deep-rooted tradition, go hand in hand in the Vinschgau area. We still treasure our tradition! We want to make your holiday an unforgetable experience. Therefore, we will serve you daily with excellent, fresh products from our farm, so that it is not only your heart that is spoilt. Delicacies made according to German and Italian recipes, as well as a glass of wine unite soul and body. All this in a happy and buoyant atmosphere which you can enjoy right from the start ! The Summer comes with numerous walking trails - from the famous 'Waale' to Roman art monuments of worldwide importance and botanic treasures at the 'Sonnenberg', through the beautiful forests of the 'Schattenhang' ….. Apart from this, there are day trips to nearby Switzerland, to the Stilfserjoch, the triangle or the foot of the 'König Ortler'. Each day brings something new ! During the Winter, the most beautiful skiing areas are just a stone's throw away: Watles, Schöneben, Sulden, Trafoi, Nauders, Langtaufers. You might be a ski fan, you might prefer the trails or even sledging - or simply enjoy having snow under your feet. Here in silent Winterwald you are in the right place !

About the region

The sunniest valley in the Alps as well as the highest mountain in South Tyrol, ‘King’ Ortler, are but a stone’s throw away in Vinschgau, the westernmost part of South Tyrol. Character and creativity in this border region are expressed by the unique products and rich cultural and artistic treasures to be discovered against the backdrop of contrasting and dramatic landscapes.

The waters of the Reschensee lake guard the secrets of a famous sunken church. A view out across the lake towards its lonely church tower, surrounded by snowkiters or sailboats, exemplifies the blending of culture and possibilities for activity on holidays in Vinschgau. Discover for yourself the varied landscapes bathed in light as well as the creativity and peculiarity of the people of Vinschgau during a ride on the Vinschgau Train. View numerous castles and forts in the wide and sun-spoiled valley, dubbed the patchwork quilt of South Tyrol. As you travel further along, the Ortler peak appears larger than life. Hop out and enjoy the bounty that surrounds you, from Vinschgau apricots to specialties like Paarl bread. Stroll along the Waalwege paths or bike to Glorenza/Glurns, the smallest city in Italy, where you can head back in time to the middle ages.
