Michael Mittermeier FLASHBACK - Die Rückkehr der Zukunft
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
Michael Mittermeier goes travelling through time.... in Merano After almost four decades of comedy tours, the popular German cabaret artist Michael Mittermeier is going where he has never been before: into the future. As long as it still exists! But how to get there? In the 80s, you still travelled there by car. Typical. But how do you get there today? Is time travel even possible? Yep, he did it! FLASHBACK - Return of the future The solution was in the cellar: ‘Michl's’ great-grandfather was an inventor, a kind of Bavarian Oppenheimer. And he built a time machine over a hundred years ago. The thing stood in his grandparents' cellar for decades and didn't work. They always said it was a prototype for solar heating. But the battery was flat. But now it's ready to go! Drive: comedy. Fuel: humour. Michl, energy! But travelling alone is less fun, so he takes the audience on a journey - together into the future! With a transition jacket, of course. And while you're there, it's best to take a look at the past. There's rumoured to have been a lot going on there too. The important thing is to laugh together. No matter what time. FLASHBACK! I know what you'll have done next summer... In german laguage

Dance performance - Puccini’s opera - Voci di donne
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
The Compagnia Artemis Danza, led by Monica Casadei, dedicates this artistic project to a contemporary exploration and interpretation of four fascinating heroines by Giacomo Puccini: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Mimì, and Turandot. Understanding Puccini's music involves analyzing its profound connection with the feminine world. In the four acts that make up Puccini's Opera, we find Casadei's personal interpretation of the female theme, placed at the center of a choreographic, visual, and musical reinterpretation process. Tragic love, thwarted and opposed love, cruel love that annihilates, the craving for possession that leads to destruction – all these live in the faces, bodies, and gestures of the Company, and continue to make us reflect on the contemporary relevance of stories that have moved audiences worldwide. The creation is imbued with a poignant atmosphere, filled with tension and poetic suggestion. Puccini's orchestral score is juxtaposed with electronic tracks by composers Luca Vianini and Fabio Fiandrini, crafting an enveloping and at times apocalyptic soundscape. A choral dance, swelling with impulses and passions, instinctive and at times wild, making dizzying use of space and appearing, even symbolically, visually full: solos protected by frames of ensembles in a dynamic accelerated by propulsive forces, bringing to life in the body and gut the drama and passions of the protagonists. Choreography, Direction, Set Design, Lighting, and Costumes: Monica Casadei Music: Giacomo Puccini Musical Arrangement: Fabio Fiandrini Production: Compagnia Artemis Danza Co-production: Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Ferrara With the contribution of: MiC - Ministry of Culture, Emilia-Romagna Region - Department of Culture, Municipality of Parma

Theatre play in Italian: Guarda le luci, amore mio
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
We are a community of desires, not of action. Ernaux, one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary culture, chose in 2012 to bring to light a space ignored by literature, yet a formidable mirror of social reality: the hypermarket. A diary was born in which he recorded visits to "his" Auchan for a year, noting the contradictions and rituals, but also the unexpected tenderness, of that temple of consumption. From this "free review of observations" conducted between one aisle and another - with the shopping list in hand - in contact with the glittering mountains of goods of large-scale distribution, a narrative reflection comes to life capable of showing us from an unusual angle one of the secret theaters of our collective life. Director, screenwriter and actress, Michela Cescon is a passionate reader of Ernaux's work. Together with Lorenzo Flabbi, Ernaux's historic translator for L'Orma Editore, he edited the first Italian dramaturgical adaptation of Guarda le luci, amore mio. The show is performed by Valeria Solarino and Silvia Gallerano, two charismatic personalities, two artists with very different backgrounds and careers, on stage together for the first time to give voice and body to this new journey into everyday life. Based on the book of the same name by Annie Ernaux, with Valeria Solarino, Silvia Gallerano Dramaturgical adaptation Lorenzo Flabbi, Michela Cescon Directed by Michela Cescon Sets, lights, costumes Dario Gessati Production by Teatro Stabile di Bolzano, Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale In collaboration with Teatro di Dioniso, Riccione Teatro and L'Orma Editore

    Pasquale Mirra: „Moderatamente Solo”
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
Suite for vibraphone, percussion, and sound objects

    Pasquale Mirra: vibraphone & effects

Considered one of the most interesting vibraphonists on the Italian and international scene, he has collaborated with major improvisers worldwide, including: Mulatu Astatkè, Michel Portal, Shabaka Hutchings, Rob Mazurek, Moor Mother, Trilok Gurtu, William Parker, Gerald Cleaver, Damon Locks, Fred Frith, Nicole Mitchell, Hank Roberts, Ernst Reijseger, Chad Taylor, Ballaké Sissoko, Jeff Parker, Tomeka Reid, Jamie Branch, Jamie Saft, Tristan Honsinger, Butch Morris, James Brandon Lewis, and many others.

Pasquale describes his project as follows:
“Just as in Cubism we witness the fragmentation of objects and forms into multiple geometries, creating a kind of visual ‘multiplicity,’ so in the performance Moderately Solo, entitled Suite in Two-Dimensional Form, we find a series of compositions that the listener can hear but also imagine, perceiving them from different sonic angles. My intention is to play ‘deconstructed’ compositions and songs and to play, as a Cubist artist would, with geometry, fragmentation, and simultaneous representation in order to create a visual series that challenges the traditional perception of form and space.”

    Theatre in German: Eine Liasion
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
Years later, a man and a woman remember a time when they had a passionate relationship with each other: Every week, always in the same place, at the same hour, they met to live out their erotic fantasies. They didn't want to know each other's names or anything else in each other's lives, but they grew closer and became almost indispensable to each other. Until an event where suddenly everything was at stake. Now they are reviving this relationship in their memory. Each for themselves, but also united, they look back, with all the fuzziness and gaps in memory that time brings with it. This always makes for amusing moments, but also testifies to the tenderness and humor in their relationship that has lasted all these years. The author Philippe Blasband, who was born in Tehran in 1964 and lives in Brussels, was highly praised for his screenplay for the film "Une liaison pornographique" at the Venice Film Festival in 2000. With Katharina Stemberger and Andreas Patton, two actors also known from film and television now embody the protagonists of this unusual relationship on stage. IL LAGO DEI CIGNI - SWAN LAKE
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
    Music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
    Choreography: Luigi Martelletta

Considered one of the most famous and enchanting ballets of the classical repertoire, the production is performed by a highly prestigious company with over twenty-five years of experience.

Tchaikovsky’s extraordinary music, combined with elegant choreography, will guide the audience through an evocative and engaging evening.

The story follows a princess who becomes the victim of an evil spell cast by the sorcerer Rothbart, whose love she has rejected. Because of the curse, she is forced to spend daylight hours in the form of a white swan. Only a vow of true love can break the enchantment.

One night, Prince Siegfried encounters Odette, the princess transformed into a swan: their eyes meet, love is born, and the prince vows to save her.

Faithful to academic tradition yet attentive to contemporary taste, Luigi Martelletta presents a more lively, dynamic, and fluid version of the ballet, lightened from those mannerisms and pantomimes that can sometimes appear slow or overly elaborate.

All the elements most beloved by audiences will be present: the enchanting swans, the Spanish, Russian, Neapolitan, and Hungarian character dances, the famous pas de deux, and much more.

The uniqueness of this production lies in its ability to blend fantasy and reality, offering a vibrant and modern performance while preserving a deeply rooted expressive tradition that reflects the enduring history of ballet.

Theatre play in Italian - Cosmos
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. (Carl Sagan) Cosmos is a reflection on the beauty of the universe: planets, stars, galaxies, and the space that unites and separates them, are so mysterious that they nourish the most daring fantasies. eVolution dance theatre reinvents the famous black light theatre in which darkness and the skilful use of light and visual effects give life to enthralling and exciting performances. Cosmos, the latest work by Anthony Heinl and Nadessja Casavecchia, turns its gaze towards the universe, a place where fantastic, floating, poetic figures move within imaginative spaces. The performance is the result of a long and participatory process in which each performer contributes to the final result of the show, enriching it with her wealth of experience ranging from classical dance to urban dance, from contemporary dance to acrobatics. Like every eVolution dance theatre creation, Cosmos testifies how research in terms of technological innovation can amplify, without ever replacing, the emotional and artistic contribution of its performers. Music, a fundamental element in the construction of the narrative, accompanies and intensifies the suggestions of each individual painting. Cosmos takes the spectator on a journey through unknown places, where science and understanding give way to imagination. Thanks to the creative and at the same time “pop” approach that characterises the entire production of eVolution dance theatre, the show leaves the spectator with the feeling of having experienced an unforgettable journey, to a vast space beyond the boldest imagination. To welcome him, on his return, the fragile and beautiful Earth, a small world in the midst of the immensity of worlds. Meraner Kabarett Tage Meran 2026: Ulrich Michael Heissig
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
First things first: Hildegard Knef (born 1925) did not have a twin sister. Irmgard is a theatrical, dramatic figment of the imagination. And: the lady on stage is a man, cabaret artist Ulrich Michael Heissig. But if the famous Hildegard Knef had had a twin sister, she would have been like the character on stage. She would not have sung ‘Für mich soll's rote Rosen regnen’ (Let it rain red roses for me), but rather, with a wink and a tear in her eye, ‘Auch ich wollt' Autogramme geben’ (I want to give autographs too). ‘Irmgard Knef’ was born in 1999, and since then she has been doing both: singing and giving autographs. With topics such as politics, religion, age and sex, Irmgard has successfully emancipated herself from her much more famous sister Hildegard. And she has achieved something that Hildegard did not, namely winning the German Cabaret Award. Or did her male alter ego win it? Somehow, both of them did.

Meraner Kabarett Tage Meran 2026: Lara Stoll (CH) “Volume 5 – die Rückkehr!"
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
The title fits perfectly! For the magnificent poetry slammer, it really is a return. A return to Merano. In 2019, she was a guest at the very first Cabaret Days, and Lara Stoll, who was hardly known in this country at the time, left behind an audience that was as amazed as it was enthusiastic. It came as no surprise, because a week before her guest appearance in Merano, the then 31-year-old received the German Cabaret Award (as a Swiss citizen!). Six years have passed since then and she has received further awards (including the Salzburger Stier 2021). Lara Stoll's fifth solo programme, ‘Volume 5 – Die Rückkehr’ (Volume 5 – The Return), is a mixture of comedy and poetry. Lara Stoll combines profundity with absurdity, dealing with ageing as well as the challenges of road traffic. The bundle of energy from Thurgau talks about life in Switzerland, switching between gibberish and razor-sharp sentences. It's crazy!

Theatre in German: Romeo und Julia

Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are no longer quite so young and neither are they Lovers. Both are nesters in the comfortable home of their wealthy parents. Romeo prefers to strum his lute all day long. Julia sleeps during the day because she dances at balls at night. What is comfortable for the children who have long since grown up is slowly becoming too colorful for the parents. Both houses hope that their offspring will finally stand on their own two feet. Romeo and Juliet, who do not want to move out, forge a clever plan. But every good intrigue quickly gets out of control. While Romeo and Juliet have their hands full, something changes between the two that surprises them and catches their parents off guard. The families are also troubled by the authoritarian duke, who severely punishes anyone who causes unrest. The houses of Montague and Capulet are caught up in the maelstrom of the resistance movement, and suddenly there is much more at stake than the old, small conflicts... Kaja Dymnicki and Alexander Pschill swept the audience off their seats in the 24/25 season with "Amadeus". Now they take a fresh look at Shakespeare's classic with their usual enormous speed. Meraner Kabarett Tage Meran 2026: Robert Palfrader (A) “Testament”
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
Robert Palfrader visited South Tyrol several times in 2025 with his first solo programme, ‘Allein’ (Alone). Now comes ‘Testament’. Not necessarily his last will and testament, but definitely his new solo programme. However, it could be that there is still something to inherit from Robert Palfrader. His observations and reflections on the subject of spoon delivery, for example. Everything you need to know to rest in peace, but still be heard loud and clear from your final resting place. Robert Palfrader (56) is best known to South Tyrolean audiences as an actor and cabaret artist. His signature role was Robert Heinrich the First in the ORF satirical programme ‘Wir sind Kaiser’ (We are Emperor). The Vienna-born actor with roots in the Gadertal valley also works as a director and screenwriter. Before the premiere of ‘Testament’ in Munich in April 2026, there will be a preview in Merano at the Merano Cabaret Days. It is an honour for us.

    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
On this evening, the view of the ‘state of the nation’ expands into a panorama from a three-country perspective. Three renowned cabaret artists present excerpts from their current programmes and venture beyond national boundaries in a satirical summit meeting. What is going wrong in Switzerland? What is ailing Germany? Where are the problems in Austria? Why does something work in one country that is prohibited in another? Why do some look down on others, but enjoy holidaying there? Why do others despise some, but constantly shop there? And are there more similarities than just the boring ‘Tatort’ on Sunday evenings? Thomas Maurer (Vienna) explains what the AFD can learn from the FPÖ. Jane Mumford (Zurich), Swiss-English cabaret artist, musician and author, reveals what is going wrong in Switzerland, and Munich-born Jess Jochimsen will host the evening and not forget the South Tyrolean perspective. After all, his mother was born and raised in Merano.

    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
He has reached the age of 30 and still does not know where his journey will take him. Martin Frank cannot even say what his programme is about. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? ‘Perhaps today I will criticise milk alternatives and tomorrow I will be diagnosed with lactose intolerance. Or I might get stuck on the street and go on a cruise with my mum tomorrow.’ The only question that really interests Martin Frank at the moment is whether Mozart even knows about the bullets. One thing is certain: Martin Frank sings an Italian aria that is likely to remind many in the audience of a forceps delivery. But he risks the number because he believes, ‘Either you like me and we spend a nice evening together, or you don't like me and send me your mother-in-law.’ Whichever way you look at it, it's probably really up to him.

Meraner Kabarett Tage Meran: Tina Teubner „Wenn du mich verlässt, komm ich mit"
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
    In german language.
Is that a promise or a threat? Whenever Tina Teubner comes on stage, she is never alone. Tina Teubner's excessive, emotional outbursts are not only a delight for those in committed relationships, but also for those who are searching and want to know what to expect. The 59-year-old certainly has a wealth of experience when it comes to relationships. She discovers the comedy in drama and the abysmal in comedy, shaking her audience awake with songs, cabaret and mischief. Tina Teubner has tested all of this with and on her husband and is convinced that this is the only reason she has been showered with awards. To name a few: twice the German Cabaret Award, the German Cabaret Prize and the 2024 Salzburger Stier. When Tina promises or threatens, ‘If you leave me, I'll come with you,’ the world changes a little. Ben has to work on himself, and the audience gets to watch.

Haydn: Rigoletto – I misteri del teatro
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
An exciting journey into the heart of theatre, combining music, storytelling and reflection to introduce students to the magic of the stage and the great themes of opera. Rigoletto intertwines Verdi's drama with the life of a travelling theatre company, transforming each performance into a collective ritual of emotions and truths. With few props, skilful lighting and intense performances, it reveals the boundary between reality and fiction, offering a glimpse into theatre work, stage machinery and behind the scenes. The viewing is accompanied by a reflection on the themes of the opera: the father-daughter relationship, sacrifice for love, disguise, and the desire for transformation. A reading of the female role is also central, to educate students in respect and empathy. An interdisciplinary experience designed to stimulate curiosity and critical thinking.
