From the Hotel Les Alpes on the small route to the middle station of the Piz de Plaies cable car. There, turn right and continue on the scenic path through green meadows to Sarjëi. From this path the route continues via a woodland path to the hamlet of Ju. For the return we recommend the route that goes to the mountain station of the Piz de Plaies cable car and then back to San Vigilio.

When you take the so-called Solder Hiking Trail, you will start in the village center of Truden to the "Leger" outlook platform. You will pass by the Jäger Cross, and then proceed along the staircase. Suddenly, you will find yourself amidst spectacular alpine scenery where dwarf pines, alpine rhododendrons, the dryas, and other plant species dominate the landscape. From the "Hochwand," you can admire a vast and beautiful panorama. Continue on your way until you come to the Cisloner Alm (managed). From there, you proceed along the trail – similar to a balcony ("Solder" is Tyrolean for "balcony"). You will pass by several great outlook points as you return to the village center.

Easy hike to one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the Pustertal valley, whose little church " Unserer Lieben Frau von Loreto" was built around the middle of the 17th century.

Pleasant walk from the fortress Mitterberg/Monte di Mezzo - inn Gasthof Panorama - to the hut Helmhanghütte. Wonderful view of the village of Sesto, accessible by buggy.

Enjoy a shady hike to the Paul Grohman Monument, the first climber of the Sassolungo. This route winds through a forest, providing shelter from the sun. Immerse yourself in nature and discover the monument dedicated to the pioneer Paul Grohman.

A journey of discovery of Ladin culture, walking through the village starting at the valley station of the Resciesa funicular and first reaching the 'Solaria' house and then the 'Cudan' house. You will firstly cross a beautiful meadow with a wonderful view of Ortisei, and then plunge into nature through the coniferous forest. You will then reach the characteristic 'Dumat' farmstead. The way back runs along the Via Mureda until, after about 700 m, at the junction, you turn left into Via Meisules, to return to the village centre.

From the Hotel Monte Paraccia the path runs uphill to the hamlet of Torpëi. There you can enjoy the beautiful view of San Vigilio. The path continues past farm buildings. Return to the village via the hamlet of Pinëi.

Hiking on Sesto's sunny side
The Carnic Ridge and the Dolomites - two mountain ranges with contrasts that attract in Sesto. Walking along the Helm/ Monte Elmo means experiencing the day with the most beautiful panoramic views. Short and also extensive hikes are offered by the Helm, which is a destination for the whole family thanks to the Helmjet cable car.

A comfortable walk through the middle of the fruit trees. Recommended in the heyday, when the orchards are blooming. Suitable walk for babies/kids and strollers. Also practical on bad weather days.

 

An easy and enjoyable stroll between La Villa and Badia, through woods and meadows with views of the Sas dla Crusc/Sasso di Santa Croce mountain, Lavarella and Conturines mountains. This walk is suitable even for strollers.

Either from the village square via Valiares or from the Aqua Bad Cortina Oasis Hotel, follow the Tres La Val trail up to the Spiaggetta Ciamaor park. Walk back taking the same route or turn right at the edge of the sports ground and follow the Tru dles Liondes trail which leads to the Nature Park House.

On the Tracks of Wild Animals

Let the (treasure) hunt begin! A family-friendly trail where you’ll encounter many charming mountain animals, ready to share stories about their lives and habitats. At the end of the path, more surprises await you… or maybe even two: the emerald-green Lech Dlá Lé lake and a well-deserved reward for the young explorers who successfully complete the treasure hunt and collect all the stamps!

How does it work? After picking up the maps at Rifugio Lé hut, you can set off on the animal tracks – matching the stamps to each station – and, following the clues, collect the balls that lead to the treasure. Once both trails are completed, the young explorers can claim their well-earned prize at the starting hut.

Discover numerous highlights on the family-friendly Star Village circular hike in Steinegg|Collepietra. The trail leads you to the open-air exhibition on Pstosser Bühl, past the Mountain Cinema near the Biohotel Steineggerhof with stunning views of the Schlern|Sciliar and Rosengarten|Catinaccio, to the small chapel "Zum Weißen Bild", the earth pyramids of Steinegg|Collepietra, and the rocket treehouse in the forest adventure zone Öl. If you want to explore even more, take a short detour to the ruins of Steinegg|Collepietra– just a 20-minute walk from the village center. Simply follow the signs with the ruin symbol and dive into the history of the ancient castle.

Important note: There are no refreshment stops along the entire circular route. However, at the start and end point in Steinegg|Collepietra, you will find several restaurants, cafés, and two shops.

In winter some sections of the route may be covered in snow or ice.

To "Rungg" and St. Valentin, duration: approx. 45 minutes, asphalt

This 4.5 km long hike from San Martino in Monte to Rossböden awaits you with a breathtaking view of the glacier giants of the Ortler-Cevedale group and a view of Val Venosta’s valley floor.

Ideal for a walk, as a start for the Sesto circuit or if you just want to feel the silence and energy of the forest.

Either from the village square via Valiares or from the Aqua Bad Cortina Oasis Hotel, follow the Tres La Val trail up to the Spiaggetta Ciamaor park. Heading towards Tres La Val, walk on the right side of the stream starting from the Spiaggetta Ciamaor park and continue on to the next bridge just before Lé dla Creda. From there, it is another 10 minute walk. The route back to San Vigilio leads partly along the main road and partly along the walkway.

This walk starts at the Strada Ciasé (opposite Garni Cristallo). Turn right at the Gran Pré business park and then continue until you reach the Ciasé farmstead. Walk slightly uphill to the Bella Vista Hotel Emma and return to San Vigilio on the roadside pavement.

Troi Paian is a historical high-altitude trail that leads from the Valle Isarco through the Dolomites to the Venetian Plain. One stage is from Lajen/Laion to Ortisei. The Troi Paian is Val Gardena's oldest path that existed already in the Bronze Age and served as a connecting path to the Valle Isarco.

This hike starts at the Miara cable car. From there, the walk continues along the road to the hamlet of Val and on along the Costa woodland path. Return to San Vigilio via Ras.

There are so many highlights of the Star Village of Steinegg|Collepietra to discover on this varied & family-friendly hike, even in winter - you walk past the open-air exhibition at the Pstosser Bühl, at the Mountain Cinema near the Biohotel Steineggerhof there are great views of the mountains Schlern|Sciliar and Rosengarten|Catinaccio, the small chapel ‘Zum Weißen Bild’ is on the wayside, you can admire the earth pyramids of Steinegg|Collepietra from afar and you also pass the Rocket Tree House for children in the forest adventure zone "Öl".

You will find refreshment stops in the centre of Steinegg|Collepietra.

From the church square, take the road between the Sport Erich shop and the Tabarel restaurant. After crossing the bridge, in front of you, you will see the indication for the „Spiaggetta Ciamaor“. Once you have reached the Spiaggetta, continue along the path „Tres la Val“, which leads through meadows and forests of rare beauty for about 10km to Pederü. You can return to San Vigilio by shuttle bus or by following the same route.

The San Martino - Egg - Forra trail is also recommended for less experienced hikers.

With its breath-taking panoramic views in high mountain terrain, the walk from S. Pietro to Rasciesa runs through lush vegetation and across colorful meadows in bloom.

The Stocknertal Loop Trail is a relaxing walk that leads you through Terenten's nature and charming village areas. Perfect for those looking for a short walk with plenty of variety.

From the end of the lake > turn right > follow mark n. 7 > Steinzgeralm.

Tip: From the Steinzgeralm you can walk on for 30 minutes reaching the "Obere Steinzgeralm" at 2,079 m > path n. 7 > Staller Saddle.

The circular hike on the Steinegg Ridge Way is ideal for families and hikers looking for a varied hike. On well-signposted paths marked with a yellow shoe, the route takes you mainly through sparse forests past individual viewpoints with impressive views of the surrounding mountain panorama, such as the Schlern | Sciliar, the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and the Latemar.
In the summer months, you can easily escape the heat in the woods on this circular tour.
Along the way, benches with tables invite you to take a break and have a picnic. There is also a refreshment stop on the circular hike: the alpine hut Oberölgart. Another place to stop for a break is the Untereggerhof inn. This can be reached via a short detour from the farm Tschigghof to the observatory and is not directly on the tour.
Parts of the tour are suitable for pushchairs and run along wide forest paths. Ask at the information offices in the Eggental | Val d'Ega.

A pleasant walk for the whole family to the Oberkirn Mountain Inn. Enjoy the home-made cakes, juices and schnapps, herbs from the garden, ice cream, fresh full-fat milk from our own cows, and the farm’s own smoked bacon.
