"Big 5": High-altitude excursion to the Eidechsspitze summit (2,738 metres)

It is not for nothing that Mt. Eidechsspitze is among the most popular peaks in the Pfunders mountains. Starting from the Winnebachtal car park (1,412 metres), we will climb our way to the Tiefrastenhütte hut (2,312 metres) and the Tiefrasten lake. From there, a narrow trail negotiates the rough stretch to the picturesque Kompfossee lake (2,442 metres). Finally, a steep ascent over the flank leads to the Eidechsspitze summit (2,738 metres), where a uniquely rewarding panoramic view awaits. The way back is along the same route. Refreshment points: Astner Bergalm hut, Tiefrastenhütte hut. Total walking time: approx. 7 hours, covering a distance of 17 km and 1,300 metres of elevation gain. Total duration: approx. 8 hours.
