An educational stroll that's simply irresistible. Because with Alessia, a hiking guide and ambassador of Alta Badia, the conversation turns to trash, starting with the waste left on the trails, to understand how certain behaviors can be truly harmful to the Alpine environment. Walking along the most frequented paths of Alta Badia, Alessia encourages collecting the waste left by the careless, all the while sharing curious anecdotes, prompting reflection and awareness. The experience wraps up in a convivial and relaxing moment: a picnic at the base of the Pisciadú waterfalls. On this hike around Oberbozen, we will trace the origins of old Ritten field names such as Gstral, Höll, Kaseracker, and Tennen. Field names are "concise landscape formulas", reflecting the settlement and linguistic history of Ritten. However, these names also hold clues about past agricultural activities, local vegetation, and even prehistoric times. Field names often reflect how people perceived and categorized their surroundings. Gardener Judith loves to show them off at their finest in attractive plant pots. In this workshop, she will be showing you how to arrange natural materials and succulent plants to create a desert oasis-style landscape within a bowl. Succulent bowls make a fabulous design feature for every home. Please bring: one or two small clay or ceramic bowls with a diameter of approx. 30 cm. Additionally: Gloves and a pruning shears. The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle will supply all other materials.

A terrarium in a glass forms its own ecosystem and, if set up properly, is practically maintenance free and only needs to be watered once or twice a year. Step by step, under the guidance of our gardener Judith, you will be planting your own mini terrarium to take home with you. A perfect gift, and a wonderful way to express your creativity.

Like around 30 other churches, monasteries, and chapels along the "Alpine Road of Romanesque Art," the round church of St. Georgen in Schenna will take part in the "Days of the Romanesque" on October 11 and 12, 2025. The church is one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture and painting in the Alpine region and is one of only three preserved round churches in South Tyrol. Particularly impressive are the late Gothic winged altar by Hans Schnatterpeck and the 14th-century frescoes depicting scenes from the martyrdom of Saint George.
