The weekly market in Laives offers a large selection of clothing as well as South Tyrolean specialities such as vegetables, fruit, bread and bacon. Every Thursday from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, you have the opportunity to stroll through the Via Kennedy in the section between the junction with Via Pietralba and the junction with Via Galizia. If Thursday is a public holiday, the market will take place on Wednesday.

Spruce honey, herbal salts, bath scents, calendula cream, fluffy slippers, potatoes, pumpkins, "Tirschtlan" (local specialty), pine and juniper liquor, cheese, cherry pie, rye bread, bacon, cranberry jelly ... we can do? Almost anything you can get in the small market.

On Von-Kurz-Platz, the main square in Niederdorf/Villabassa, you can once again experience the typical, unique character of our potato festival. At the festival, hearty and delicious potato dishes are prepared by hand by the chefs of the HGV and the Niederdorf farmers' wives. On both days of the festival, there is a varied farmers' market and a colorful children's program: there is something for everyone. The festival is accompanied by music from various bands. Of course, the traditional potato week (19. - 28.09.2025) in some Niederdorf/Villabassa restaurants and an alpine hut should not be missed. The classic but also modern interpretations of potato dishes will delight every gourmet. The traditional "Gsiesa Marschtl" market takes place every year on the first Saturday in September in the village center of S. Martino in Val Casies Valley. A lively market invites visitors to stroll and explore, offering everything from trendy fashion to authentic regional products. Of course, the classic chestnut roaster with his freshly roasted chestnuts is a must. The festivities begin with a traditional morning pint, where delicious Tyrolean specialties are served. Various musical performances follow, creating a festive atmosphere and entertaining visitors with a mix of traditional and modern sounds. The highlight of the afternoon is the parade with the cattle drive, which attracts numerous visitors to Val Casies Valley every year – a true highlight for locals and guests alike! On Saturday the fairground in St. Martin/S. Martino dives deep into its roots. Characteristic and high quality products for guests and locals. The market reflects a moment of enjoyment of the cuisine of the Passeiertal Valley: honey, cheese, bacon, wine, beer, freshly made bread and pasta, "Krapfen" and "Strudel" tyrolean specialities, teas. Exhibitors from Five Countries For the 47th time, the large international collectors’ fair, Lanaphil, will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lana/South Tyrol. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be a meeting point for collectors. About 50 exhibitors and many collectors will be present in the large hall, the foyer, and on the stage of the Raiffeisenhaus in Lana. Exhibitors and visitors from the following five countries will participate: Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Twice a Year Collectors’ Fair The founder and organizer, Albert Innerhofer, a passionate collector of old and historical postcards, first organized this collectors' meeting in Lana on October 22, 2000. Since then, the event has been very popular, taking place twice a year—once in April and once in October—in the Raiffeisenhaus of Lana, South Tyrol. Thanks to visits to many collectors' fairs both in Italy and abroad, many friendships and contacts with other collectors have developed, some of which have lasted for decades and are still ongoing today. At this fair, old historical postcards, stamps (including personalized stamps), coins, letters, pre-philatelic items, historical stock certificates, banknotes, military items, and other memorabilia such as books, engravings, old photos, and accessories will be available for trade, purchase, or sale. Personalized Stamps Each year at Lanaphil, new personalized stamps are released. Currently, the following personalized stamps are available: Heinrich Dalla Rosa (1909-1945), a priest from Lana who was executed by the Nazis on January 24, 1945 – 2024 Dipl.-Ing. Dr. h.c.
